Mindset Monday ðŸ§
Going outside to go within.
This weekend, I went to the woods for a writer’s retreat.
I went to unplug, reboot, and grab some inspiration from nature.
It worked. And here’s one of the first things I became acutely aware of— we’ve been doing this all backwards!
We give our best hours, energy, and attention to work—
then expect whatever scraps are left to feel like a life.
So when we finally slow down…
it takes nearly a full day just to feel like ourselves again.
That’s the opposite of balance.
That’s burnout in disguise. That’s velocity that has weak brakes.
What if we stopped waiting for life…
and started weaving it in?
Step outside.
Feel the air.
Turn the music up on a random Tuesday.
Be loud. Be quiet. Be messy. Be human.
Pause in the middle of your day and ask—
How am I, really?
What do I need… right now? AND- How can I give it to myself?
Not later. Not someday.
Now.
Your soul doesn’t run on a weekend schedule.
Your body doesn’t thrive on delay.
Life isn’t something you earn at the end of the week—
it’s something you practice, moment by moment.
Five minutes of presence.
A breath. A stretch.
A laugh that interrupts the grind.
Small moments, threaded together—
until one day you realize:
You didn’t need a vacation to find your life— you needed to give yourself permission to finally LIVE it.
THE INVITATION: Go outside. Barefoot. Look up at the sky. 3 deep breaths.
Then ask Yourself:
Where am I?
How do I feel?
What do I need right now?
How can I give it to myself?
Then go grab some life and enjoy it!
